The Kapuso network's latest initiative encouraging the public to get vaccinated against COVID-19 is off to a strong start.
As of August 21, #FlexMoNa is among the trending topics on Twitter with more than 50,000 tweets.
GMA Artist Center described #FlexMoNa as “an online campaign” designed to spread awareness and encouragement on the importance of getting vaccinated.
Numerous GMA Artist Center stars are involved in this campaign. They all share their personal stories and experiences of being vaccinated on social media to encourage the public to register and get inoculated soon wherever they can.
“Using #FlexMoNa on social media, GMA Artist Center talents will post their vaccination photos and tell their own story on what made them decide to get vaccinated,” said the statement from the network's talent arm.
With the help of Kapuso celebrities, GMA Artist Center, and the Kapuso Network hope to reach out to more people from all over the country and help in the fight against COVID-19.
“There is still a majority of Filipinos who are unwilling or hesitant to get the COVID-19 vaccines for various reasons, like fear of side effects, waiting for their preferred brands, or some are intimidated by the whole process,” said GMA Artist Center Assistant Vice President for Talent Imaging and Marketing Simoun Ferrer.
“With the emergence of new and more contagious COVID-19 variants, vaccination, aside from practicing safety protocols like wearing masks and social distancing, will help us reach herd immunity and prevent further spread of the disease.”
The Philippines as of Friday (August 20) has recorded 17,231 new COVID-19 cases, the most in a single day since the pandemic began in March 2020.
As it stands, the country's total COVID-19 cases are at 1,807,800 and with 31,198 total deaths.
